The Aspirers Society take responsibility for Child Protection extremely seriously.
We have clear policy guidelines for anyone working in our society.
The society has a Child Welfare Officer (Hopeton Bailey) who is involved in the safeguard and good practice for the children. I have undertaken many courses to continue to update and improve my professional development in this important area. I have a current and Valid CRB. The Aspirers Society ensures that all members of our Society who are working with children have a current and valid CRB and that they attend policy courses to keep up to date information in this regard.
As an organization we ensure that during activities which includes members of the public who might attend meetings to speak (example youth offenders etc), we ensure that all parents are present with their child/children and that myself or other members with CRB certificate are present. During educational visits to other institutions we ensure that parents are present with their chil/children. Again we also ensure that other members with CRB certificates are present at all times. At no time will students be left with anyone from any other institution or member of the public without a responsible parent member with CRB or Hopeton Bailey (Child Welfare Officer).
The child welfare is and must be the paramount consideration.
All children and young people have the right to be protected from abuse regardless of their age, gender, disability, culture, language, racial origin, religious beliefs or sexual identity.
All suspicions and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.
The child shall have a Child Protection Officer to be appointed at the first meeting following the AGM.
The Society’s Child Protection Officer shall make every effort to make him/her available for any service training where appropriately.
In all cases this Society will follow the Child Protection Procedures and Policies laid down by the government.
